Male Performer Chat: Room Guests
Why is it that when a guest comes into your room , And you acknowledge them they do not respond and leave????
I always make a point to stop the conversation i am in to make a guest feel welcome in my room. I do this for everyone Even my Greys, If someone asks me something i also make the point to answer back. Yes I do realize that we as models can get too many guests in our rooms and we can bypass a guest, Although i also make a point to apologize to my guests for this happening. Maybe this is just me ranting and i am sorry if i offend anyone, But i feel like this is happening more and more. Do any of you other models experience this? And if you do how do you react about this? Please feel free to leave your feelings.

I try to do the same and speak to everyone when they come into my room, but sometimes guys will slip in before I have a chance to speak to them and then they leave. I'm sure it happens to all of us at some point. A lot of guys pop between rooms, and most times are trying to catch a peek for free, or are just seeing whats going on in the rooms. Don't let it bother you, just continue to be the friendly, down to earth guy you seem to be....nothing you can do about folks who get their feelings hurt. I've been put down by ones I have missed on accident and called out in my room....it's gonna happen occassionally....my regulars always make me feel good and put me at ease as I sometimes let it get me down when people think I've intentionally been rude!! Sometimes you can over apoligize....just say hey sorry I missed ya....speak and go on. You have an active audience, and when you spend to much time apoligizing to one person you can lose others who might be potential privates. Just brush it off and go on....that's the lesson I've learned!!!

As a customer, sometimes I'm just looking around, and I'd rather not be "recognized" until I say something first. I realize that you're trying to be friendly, but to be honest, I'm a bit shy. And I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels this way. I like to size up a room, and the model, before I "commit" and make a comment. If I come in as a "gray" I don't get the same idea about the room and model, but sometimes it's the only way I have of being "invisible" for a while.

sometimes a member does not want to engage in conversation right away.
especially if they have never been into models room before. Some of us like to watch and see how the model interacts with other members, what their temperament is, get a feel for them to see if they are the kind of man they are interested in.
i for one, if upon entering models room and am not ready to converse yet and the model tries more than once to engage me, I will leave then room and maybe try again some other time. Quote

If a model speaks when I enter his room the reason why I don't answer him is simple. I can't hear him. However if he types hello I always say at least hi. Unless its the auto greet thing. I do hate entering a models room and be greeted by an empty chair

When I enter the room, I often go to the bio right away. If the model has typed "hi", I often don't respond until I have reviewed the bio - and that might take a while! Sometimes, I think that the model has said "hi", but by the time I get back to the room, that part of the conversation doesn't show on the screen anymore.

you only have that option if you get to the models room via the main site page or if they are offline.

No, while you are in the Main page underneath the models photo and to the right is a link reading "View Bio". Click that and you will be taken to the bio not the open room. Quote

Okay now that I read it with your intent I see what you are saying. That said I still use the main page to access a room because on the main page one may see if the model is in a pvt chat and while there is the option to access a different model's room and see their status (pvt or open chat) while being in another model's room, I don't do that. However, back to the view bio before entering a room I don't see the hardship in going to the main page or "eeeek" actually looking through the Bio's link for all models.

If you don't mind using multiple tabs or multiple windows, you also have the options of opening a new tab or window and either searching through the Bios and clicking on names (not pictures) of the model who has caught your eye, or using the "Search Model" search box on most pages (except models' rooms) to hopefully find that model's bio and again click on their names or the blue silhouette icon to reach their bios.

If you are in the room of a model who goes on break for more than 5 minutes, or a model who logs out, the system will automatically kick you to another model's room. I usually just leave without saying anything.

Sometimes I just go on gut intuition based on looks or the conversation in the room. Its much more complex than is someone good looking or not. The face, the eyes, the smile, the laugh all tell you a whole lot about a person's personality. The conversation with other in the history can also be quite revealing.
And sometimes I am just room hopping because a profile picture was catchy enough that I was curious as to who that model is.

Sometimes when none of my favorites are online I will "browse" some of the models who I have not previously visited. This doesn't mean I want to chat with those models or tip them or take them private, I am just "window shopping" I guess - seeing what the models really look like in the flesh and getting a feel for the models and their rooms
Quite often the first thing I do when I enter a room this way is to check out the model's bio, including their reviews. Usually it has not occurred to me to check out the bio first, and I see nothing wrong with this
I don't believe a model's room "belongs" to the model any more than a store belongs to a clerk who works there - I believe as a member (not a "guest") I have just as much right to be there as the model does. I don't like being "pounced on" by a clerk in a store when I am just browsing, and I don't appreciate a model trying to engage me in conversation as soon as I enter their room
Sometimes when I finish checking out a model's bio I will see that they have been trying to engage me in conversation and it's easier to just leave than to explain to them what I have just elaborated on here. I quite often leave a store without buying anything and without chatting with the clerk, but this doesn't mean I won't be back again later

I am naturally polite, but I should mention that I am not so polite since the introduction of the Autogreeter. (You mentioned it in a separate topic, and deafTN mentioned it at post #8).
Previously if a model said "hi ronnie-uk" I would often reply. Now I think any quick message is probably an automatic message so I'll just ignore it. I've got so used to doing that I am probably ignoring genuine messages too, which is a pity.
Perhaps models should wait 30 seconds or a minute before chatting to new visitors...
PS I've just seen Jeffie's post - exact same time as this one. Good parallel with being pounced on by a salesman as soon as you enter the store
