There have been many times I saw something hot going on in a sneak peek and decided to join or voyeur the show. As far as I'm concerned this is a definite bummer of a bad move and one more disservice by this site to its customers. No, I certainly do not understand the reasoning for it - perhaps you could explain in more detail?

An announcement was made in the General Discussions (VIP Only) Forum as the anonymous F4F staff member who made the announcement was under the impression that only VIPs got the "peek". It should have gone in the News & Announcements Forum as it is relevant to all members
The announcement read :
"For over 10-years we have offered a "peek" into paid shows at different intervals. Long ago this "peek" was available to all customers and was curtailed years later to just VIP members. Our most recent tweak on this functionality was to employ graphic curtains which open for 5 seconds and then close for the next 55 seconds. Unfortunately we are required to abandon the peek entirely later this week in favor of improving video security.
Like any system that has been around as long as ours, you acquire digital baggage over the years; sometimes this baggage must be discarded to make room for other features and improvements. In our case, the 5-second "peek" was causing a number of issues thwarting our efforts to further improve the security of our live video streams and we made the decision to scrap the peek so we can provide the most secure streams possible.
We understand that many VIP members have enjoyed this functionality over the years and we hope you understand our reasons behind this change. The front-end interfaces will be updated throughout the week to accommodate this change." Quote

join YOUR pvt show and not someone else's, lot of people don't like that other can see what a model is doing for them
I like it that preview is taken away - it makes my private shows a bit more private. The show I buy, I buy for myself and not for public amusement.

I have joined voyeur and multi many, many times strictly as a result of the 5 second window of seeing what the performer was doing. Otherwise, I spend a substantial amount of time in a performer's free chat to get to know him before participating in a private session. While I can understand when a performer says that discontinuing the "peek" function gives him and his member (no pun intended) more privacy, I would think that he would prefer a function that had the potential of bringing him more clients and money as a result of them sneaking a peek, being turned on and joining in voyeur or multi.

On the practical side of things, I think it will reduce the voyeur-ratio. Additionally the rooms will be pretty fast empty once a private starts. Up to now some rooms were quite a treat even with the model in show, since the members stayed in, chatting and waiting to perhaps jump into voyeur or only to welcome the model(s) back.
I wonder, if the models will be happy to find their rooms empty once coming out of a show.

And you bring up a great point! The camaraderie in the room while the model was entertaining in private has for all intents and purposes been obliterated. What a pity. I don't know... Just trying to find a way it can work... Personally, I really don't give a shit either way though... Could be beneficial and have more customers taking me private due to the utter anquish of no dick and ass... Could be the end of my career... Eh... But I'll manage... Could be worse... Just sayin'

I formyself think that would be the worst of all solutions - buy a peek for money. Reminds me on taking away the whisper for "basic" members and making it a "special" VIP feature . Taking away the preview for privacy reason is the thing I like - taking it away and bringing it back for additional payment would make me feel punked.
For me private is like the name says: PRIVATE. It is my fantasy - only for me. And that's what I pay for.
I understand that voyeur income may decrease - but that's something I don't care when I book a PVT.
I myself belong to (the maybe small group of members) Luk A mentioned: I don't like it that others see my fantasy - and I am with him in that one thing: join your own show. If you wanna have a cheap "used" show - book a VOD. As members have the chance to block them you can be sure that the one who booked the original show feels ok with sharing
Concerning empty rooms: Members who visit a room only for preview peek don't do anything for athomsphere in room - and they don't help to increase any income for any models.
I know lots of rooms where the model managed to build up a kind of community - members wait for the model to come back and keep up a conversation while she /he is in PVT and for me those are the best rooms. Quote

your reasoning for doing this is because people take pics, thats ridicolas they can take pics in party or in pvt why would u wait with a quick lens to take a pic in 30 second flash really stupid
