Some new performers are tempted to add lots of one-word topics and posts here, simply to get their name at the top of the forum.
This advice was provided by Hall of Fame legend Adam Foxx:
I have heard from countless members that it's actually a turn-off to them when models promote themselves constantly on the Male Performer Chat thread boards. I have been told repeatedly that it adds NOTHING of value to these threads. Doing so ONCE IN A BLUE MOON is one thing (especially if you have been gone for a long period of time or have something of value to add), but posting 3-7 times a week that, "I'm online!!! Come see me!!! Take me private!!!" is pretty lame. Also highjacking another thread to promote yourself is lame also. "That's a good point so and so. I would never do that to you! Come see me now & I'll prove it to you in private chat!!!" LOL It's all rather silly and juvenile. ;) If you would like to promote yourself--the proper channel is in your blog. ;)
The advice was in a follow-up post to his excellent 20-point guide, which was a sticky thread at the top of this forum for 18 months:

Adam Foxx was top class PERSON who was involved in Flirt community . I am sure he continues to do great in his Post - Flirt real life !
He made friends easy with ALL performers and MANY members .
He was 1st male performer I saw .
It was when he RE-wrote same topic for Female performers . I went to his room to tip for appreciation and leave . We talked . He teased that the "straight guy has tipped more than the gay guys" and laughed . He made members at ease and room had lots of participation . He even tried to educate beggars and rude people . He DID reach a few in that visit !
It helped models what to do in some situations .
It helped many new members HOW to chose WHO to visit and chose to spend time and then for privates / groups / know quality models better / and ne a better member !!!!
Since then I have popped up in a room or 2 to 'Tip target" and go /
I got to know forum models who helped models and members OR contributed to topics with a thoughtful reply . Often make member and / or model know something more .
Hat tip to ALL models , members , and Flirt staff who continue to contribute to the Flirt4Free community Quote

This Male Performer Chat forum is used by members and performers. If you want to raise topics which are only for fellow performers to see, you should use the Studio and Performers forum

* Be patient with the members who don't immediately start talking. Some will never talk, but others might be looking at your profile to check out your VODs or to get a better sense of who you are and what you're into and willing to do. Some are watching and listening/reading how you interact with other members for the same reason. And others may be working up their courage to greet and start talking with you.
* If there are rude or disrespectful members in your room whose words or behavior you feel are unacceptable and inappropriate (regardless of whether THEY get off on it), remember that you have tools with which to deal with these members. Don't jump straight to banning them, but silence them or kick them out of your room. Hopefully they will get a clue.

Advice about teasing members (and encouraging them to spend more credits):

The point here is, for new performers, visit some of the other performers rooms and see what they are doing. They are your competitors for business, so see what makes them tick. See what works and what doesn't, and what might be useful to you. There have been some new performers that have come on board, and are strong personalities, interacting with customers, and consequently, these guys get on my favourite list, guys that I want to see more of.
Performers have a choice of what type of performer they want to be. Quote

Well said midnightvoiceco. Alas I think new performers on the site might never take the time to read these postings which in the long run would be a big help to them.

Good point, gofish
You are rather unique here, and take the time to give personal advice to many new performers who request it. Many of those topics inevitably drop down the forum, and are never seen again.
I hope that you and others will feel free to copy your best advice here, and can then include a link to this topic when new performers ask for "advice for a newbie"

If I have a PRIVATE with you make sure you are
NOT in 3,4 or 5 other sites at the same time while I'm paying to have your full attention....
Have to common decency to close your other shows and
give me what I pay for.... PRIVACY.
I hate it when I have a PRIVATE and in a few other
sites people are throwing tokens, credits and tips at you
when you are actually supposed to be ONLY with me
This has happened to me several times and it feels like I was taken for a ride, made a
fool of... ... and I was!!!
I know it is hard to make a living in
this sort of business but HONESTY is paramount...
You guys know who you are and this message is not pertinent or geared to all models...
Sadly I had to drop several performers off my list of favorites because of this situation......
I only demand what is mine to have!! ...my next step will be to drop this site altogether and go elsewhere...
I have seen these dishonest practice done mostly by the
newcomers....never the old time established performers...
Ohhh yesss!! I know...this is a fantasy place!!...but my credits aren't!!! .. ... they are very real and acquired with hard earned money......
No offense guys but it is time to clean up your act and Flirt4Free should enforce it by expelling such individuals...

This is spot on from my very limited (first week on cam) experience. I've been told by countless guests of my room how refreshing it is that I'm so open and have such interesting topics of conversation. From what I've seen, I believe it makes you appear more real and draws the attention of the guests in the room. Great advice!! Quote

In the forum: it is best not to moan about the members, and to complain that on-one visits you, no-one talks to you, no-one gives you tips and no-one takes you private. That just makes you seem negative and unpopular. Better to post about something of interest that members might like to see
Some advice here (from post #18) for Nicholas Ferrero, and other new performers Quote
The key to doing well here though is to show your appreciation to those guys who are actually tipping and not to those along for the free ride! The more you show for free in open chat the less likely anyone will actually be willing to pay to see anything in the future... Why would someone want to tip you if you're flashing everything every 5 mins?
Once you make sure everyone knows you're worth it, you'll see how much more fun private chats can be when you're actually getting horny with someone who you values you Quote
