Another point to mention. Sometimes, when coming out of a private chat with a model, I end up in some sort of "limbo" room where I'm the only one who can see and hear the model, but not interact with the model at all. Then, if I refresh or open the room in another window or tab, the room loads and there's been chat going on.

Same goes true with if you are added to a fanclub while in the room it's like it drops you even though you are still there you can't see chat or anything you type is not seen.

Doug I just put a fresh install of Mozilla on and it's just doing the constant loading thing. As for why people are not seeing the green bar that says "Use Old Interface" next to their name at the top of the screen I am not sure. Might help if people start telling what browser and type of computer they are using to get on with.

It seems to happen randomly for me, so there is something more subtle.
if you tip while in this mode, it doesnt tell you, but it does take the tip out of your wallet!!!

Only VIP's currently have the green box in a room at top right near their name to change the room type from Flash to html5.
If you don't have the green button it's easy to change back to Old (standard flash interface) by adding ?template_type=standard after the room name on the link or if you want to see the New Html5 version add ?template_type=html5 .
Example:-
http://www.flirt4free.com/rooms/MODEL_NAME/?template_type=standard will show that room in Flash format the original old style.
http://www.flirt4free.com/rooms/MODEL_NAME/?template_type=html5 will show that room in the Html5 New style version.
Also once you change that room to the desired style you want to use all other rooms you select will be in that style, it remembers that setting in your cookies for the site.
I'm still playing around with the new html5 format chat client and will give some feedback on it once I have played with it enough and to give it a fair test. So far don't like the bubble text that is used and wish they would change it back to all text showing on the left side as it does on the Flash client. It just looks now like an SMS chat system you find on phones not a chat site chat system.

@wrench01, the new interface shouldn't require a faster connection than the old. With the same connection as before we're already seeing the load time decrease by about a second with this interface. We have some plans to optimize the very few assets we use in this interface and that should shave a few hundredths of a second off of the load time. Video performance should be the same since it's still the same stream coming through your connection.

Thanks! I have a not-that-great connection to begin with so was wondering if I should expect more problems.

The new interface STINKS. Much larger video is blurry compared to the normal size. The chat box looks ridiculous with right-justified text and use of bright pink to highlight tips. Following chat is now a labor. I get considerable eye strain and headaches from the new interface in only a few minutes. Having a computer programming background myself, I never would've designed the interface in such a user "unfriendly" manner.
Instead of redesigning the former wonderfully user-friendly interface, why not focus on fixing the choppy video and audio problems that plague the site (fortunately for me, my favorite models rooms have no choppiness).
I've discovered this site shortly after connecting to the internet for the first time back in 1996 and have experienced the evolution of the site as the world's reigning "gold standard" for "live model" websites. The new interface is a gigantic leap into the wrong direction and will eventually cause me to move on to a more user-friendly experience.

First off, message received loud and clear. Everybody SHOULD have a green button to go back to the old interface BUT that's clearly not the case. I am looking into this issue right now. Our intention was never to force this interface at this stage of the game, just to give you the option to check it out.
@fozzzy, Getting back to the IE connection problems you originally brought up. IE8 and IE9 were the browsers having issues connecting and yesterday I was able to get the connection issues resolved. I am dedicating some more time this morning for these browser versions, looking for any other issues that may still exist.
@zyxwv098 Thanks for reporting this. This should be a quick fix once I am able to reproduce, which shouldn't be bad since you mention that it happens after a break.

You can still do this in the new interface. On the right side of the chat, we introduced a tab based navigation system that allows you to seamlessly switch between open chat, model bio, model list, add/remove favorites, model videos, power boost, fan club, etc. We did this so that we could fill the browser window with as much video/chat as possible. Check it out when you have a chance.

@TigrikCat, thanks for the info. BTW, when you loaded the new interface, did it show you a 'Get Flash' panel where the video should be? I want to make sure that this is clear to our users when they don't have flash.

The "use new interface" button on an offline room still leaves you in the old interface (which kept me from trying to reproduce the problem below).
The only time you get the new interface offline room is when a model goes offline, and it still bounces you to a random room after a couple of seconds. Quote

Im still seeing the old interface. With all the comments about the new one I was curious and tried out Nabils (Purgatory) advice but with no "success"...still being on the old one.
What are the requirements for the html5-format? Do I need to download a html-add-on for Firefox?

Next week we'll be opening this up a bit to a larger user base and if by chance you don't get into that test group, we should be able to find a way at that time since the script rules won't be as concrete. Just wondering...I was in a party chat using the new interface, but I didn't see any indication of how many users were in the room. Is it already there, only I didn't see it? If it isn't there, could it be put back in somewhere?

I'm sorry to add to your burden.
I was just in a group chat. When it ended, the room switched over to show "Join Multi-User" while waiting for the performer to return. After the video feed resumed, the chat feed froze. I had to open the room in another tab to resume the chat. I don't know if this is part of the other issue or not (about coming out of break, etc.). Hopefully it is similar enough (or it is the same) and it can be resolved easily.

Good points :
Made large icons smaller
More stable and not kicking back to front page
I saw the site fix the problems as identified .
Easier to tell when the model was typing with Left oriented chat . Member chat was on the right .
html is probably more secure than Flash
No more "auto-greeter" messages when entering new interface rooms
Bad points :
I got WORST headache with so many colors and "flashing" when a pledge happened for group or more than 2 lines of chat . I hope "no emotions" button returns for new interface
Chat looked like Instant Message conversation and with the "bubble" it took up more room .
NO notification again before a BIG change . This site fails in letting a member know "Change is coming" .
As a Non VIP ... I was f0rced to use the new chat .
I liked to be able "open a new tab/page" to read Bio or make a review . Now you cannot see the model's typing . Actually takes you OUT of the room and to Reviews when making a review and closes the models room .
