Purgatory, you helped me set up my evi by getting the dazzel thank you so much. Well years later I have found out that it also takes pictures? Wow that is why I do not have any new updated pictures....I did not know I could take them with the EVI if you know how could you please share with me & if you do not know how I still

honestly you would be better off buying a cheap digital point-and-shoot camera than trying to capture pictures with the EVI and Dazzle. You can capture images with the Dazzle software suite that comes with the capture card there is some software that allows you to capture images but the quality will be poor to say the least due to the EVI really being only a low resolution analogue camera (good for video on such sites due to it having a moving camera but not good enough for static images as with all analogue video cameras) and it will even show interlace lines on the images (lines that make up the image this is how analogue video cameras work to make up a moving image) and then you will have to tidy up the images in a photoshop type program. Also not sure how for example if you want to pose and take the picture by yourself, because im not sure the software has a timer function to take the picture unless you have someone there to click the keyboard or mouse to take the photo.
So as you see it's not worth the hassle and better to buy a digital camera, they are dead cheap these days and any of the simple click and shoot type will give you much better images and you can control things like timer to take the photo if you are alone, also it will be easier for you to work with the images as it will save them in jpeg format and you can edit them and resize them easily on any program that manipulates image files. I bet even your mobile phone if it has a camera will take better pictures then trying to use the EVI to capture images.
