I am so new to this cam model world. I am enjoying it but it is very slow in the beginning phase. It's so weird when they sit in my room and don't talk to me...Just staring :/

Just so you know from a members stand point. When a model logs out, if we are still in their room, the system will send us to another models room randomly.
It is possible that some of these folks just "sitting and staring" in your room are actually folks who went afk earlier and ended up in your room.
Other than that, best advice I can give you. Be yourself, personally greet people as you see them end up in your room. Stick with it, and your people will find you. Quote

yes ... as the hideous Couch says .. though i think that you should take that additional step ... consider them not as 'almost' imaginary but rather as totally imaginary ... create a sense in yourself that you are completely delusional and conduct conversations with yourself but directed at them ... i am sure that both you and the silent presences in your room list with find that quite satisfying.

I used to feel exactly the same way but in time, you will get more comfortable around the "silent lurkers". Not EVERYONE in your room is going to talk to you - in all honesty, some arent even there, lol! If a member stays in a performers room for 60 consecutive minutes, they collect 60 points which they can use to powerboost you so there are those few who open many tabs and just hang there to collect the points.

In my experience, they mostly want you to be you. I actually hold informal "focus groups" in my room from time to time and ask what is on everyone's mind, and the general consensus is that they come here to meet people. Just like in real life, some will adore you, and some will not. Some will be sweet, and some will be rude. Just remember, most of them come here for the human interaction that differentiates this type of adult website from porn
