I haven't read through all the posts, so I don't know if anything this has been added.

It might be good business practice to send out a thank you e-mail to your business customers. We get receipts, but a nice personal thank you note might secure repeat business. This is also a good way to secure loyalty from room hoppers. Also, it's good to send out an e-mail periodically just asking us how we're doing and telling us your schedule for the next week and that you'd REALLY like to see us there.

Just a little advice on how to stand out from the crowd.

i've noticed we've got a crop of new models in here and i wanted to start a thread for some advice to the new models on how to be successful!

here's just a few things i've noticed some of the new girls don't know about:

1) if you're here then you've already discovered the forums. stay active in them and you're bound to attract more members into your room! once you develop regulars, try to comment when they write in the forums - it's cool for me to know that my fav girl actually cares about what i'm writing about and not just looking at me as two big dollar signs!

2) make sure your profile is finished and creative. make sure you list things that you specialize in: bondage, ATM, wet & sloppy blow jobs, etc. the guys who are going to come on here just to get off on a pretty face are going to come into your room regardless, but lots of members read through a models bio before ever stepping foot in their chat and it's those guys who will keep coming back!

3) find your messaging/e-mail and USE IT! thank your members for their pvts or just for being a regular. you'd be amazed at how many girls don't and that's one surefire way to keep guys coming back!! so you know, a member can message a model by clicking on the envelope box below the models pic in her bio. (FYI, this chat is linked through a bunch of different sites - i.e. hustler live, digital playground live, flirt 4 free, etc. but the only site (i think) that has messaging for the members is flirt4free. so if you're talking to a member and he can't find that messaging button on your profile, it's because they are here through a different site.)

4) remember your regulars!! when i first came to this site i went through a bunch of models rooms finding out which one's i liked, the one's who remembered me were the ones i went back to. take notes if you need to - one of the girls i talked to on here had a little notebook with all her regulars fantasies, birthdays, and all sorts of info. guess who's room is always packed?

5) invest in a good camera and a good mic. i know camera's are expensive so start with a good mic and work your way up to a good camera! it's hard to get excited when it looks like i'm dialed up on a 56k modem and i'm talking to a blur!

6) try to develop a schedule, stick to it and post it in your bio. it's going to be damn near impossible to develop regulars when they're having to guess when your on. if it's possible, having some day and night times would be cool as most of us members have "regular" schedules and don't get to see half the models cause they're always on at opposite times.

7) yellow is VIP members, white are regular paying members and gray is reserved for those who have yet to buy credits. each model has their own philosophy on how to treat each color but do remember that all of us members were gray at one time too! something or someone had to inspire us to become members (and if a gray buys their first credits through your room you do get some sort of incentive).

8) there WILL be some jackass's that come through your room, do your best to ignore them and continue on with the people in your room that matter. if someone comes in your room and is spamming (ex: hi everyone, i'm penny 21 f from FL message me P3nny aT y@h0o), you can ban them by right clicking on their name and hitting eject/ban (or something similar). i think you have to list a reason, but usually "spam" is good enough. banning is only to be used on spammers, DO NOT ban a member just because you don't like them...

8) HAVE FUN! if you aren't having fun people can pick up on it, no matter how much you smile and say you're having a good day. if this isn't fun, it might not be the place for you.. sorry to be blunt but as the old saying goes "you'll catch more flies with honey than with vinegar"!

the first few weeks will be exciting and filled with ups and downs. you'll be excited for your first pvt, depressed on the first day you don't get one, and at some point wonder why that guy took you pvt for 35 seconds and was a complete dick! as you're name becomes more familiar more people will drop through you're room. don't let the bad times get to you.

this truly is an awesome site and i've met quite a few cool people on here, both members and models, which i call friends!

GOOD LUCK to all of the new girls.. i try to drop in and say hi to everyone who responds to my posts just to be nice, so hopefully i'll see you all soon!

oh and also whispering is something that members can do in chat and the message is not seen by the other members in chat. it's just seen by the model.

models can't whisper back though so try to type/say your response without giving away what the member just said (and members can't whisper to each other either, lol).

I suggest to customers, since I don't yet have a "set schedule", that they go under my "bio" and click on the "email me when online"...I LOVE that feature!

There are 3 "hot keys" you can program with a message . It is only 1 hint of how to make work better .

also wanted to throw out there two more things that models may not know:

one) if you put your "model on break" sign up, it will kick everyone out of the room if you don't come back for about two minutes. so if you ever wonder why everyone left, it's cause they couldn't stay!!

Official break - Room closes in approxiamately 5 minutes
Reshuffles members to rooms where models are there

Break sign - Members can stay until someone sees room empty .
They can shut the room down if they chose - or room stays open for a few minutes

Some rooms have stay open for longer amounts then

two) you are allowed to say where you are from if you want. how specific you are with your location is totally your discretion. some girls leave it at just their country, some will list the state, some the city and still others make up clever names (i.e. hornyville, ca). if you don't want to tell someone where you live or what school you go to then simply say you don't feel comfortable saying it. with today's technology it's not too hard to find out if you're lying when you say you're a cheerleader for the sun devils. if you are worried about someone in your area finding out about you, there is an option to block a particular state or region. so if you're on camera in ontario, have family in florida and your ex lives in cali, you can block all those areas so that members from those areas won't even know you exist. just be forewarned though, if you block the area you are broadcasting from, it also prevents you from seeing your own profile, thus not allowing you to read your reviews. � THE REVIEW ISSUE SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN RESOLVED

I just have to add this one real quick.
LADIES

I know some of you like to say you're from a location that you don't actually live. I realize you do this to avoid creepy stalkers and family and friends from finding you. That being said, you have to remember something vital.

TIME ZONES

If you're going to say that you're from California or Nevada or Florida or wherever you can dream of, be sure that you have a clock nearby with the time for that area.

I won't mention names, but I've asked models for the time in their area, and it sometimes doesn't jive with where they're claiming to be. The reason I ask is so I can know what time to look for them. But, you MUST MUST MUST have the right time for your area, or guys can figure out that you are not where you say you are.

Remember

A clock with the proper time.

on your computer you can add an extra time zone where the time is in the lower right hand corner. you just click on the time, then adjust dates and times, find the tab for additional clocks and then select the one you need. then when you hover over the time it will show local and the other time zone.

on another note if you are gonna lie about location, you might want to know about that location. if you say you're from vegas and people start asking you questions about it and you don't have the first clue as to what they're talking about, you're gonna look kinda suspicious.

On that same note. Be aware of the weather in your "fake" location. If you say you went to the pool and it was storming where you claim to be, it is a little suspicious. Just a thought

i want to throw one in from my personal opinion collection about audio:

i get that some models choose not to use audio in open chat, other models switch it up, and others use it all the time (FYI - if you have a full room audio on is probably going to be way easier for you). but for god's sake, if you're going to have your audio on then USE IT! nothing drives me nuts more than watching a model type her response while she sits there in silence! keyboards through a microphone are annoying personally i will be in someone's a lot longer if they are verbally communicating to me rather than typing the whole time. plus the voice adds an element of enticement to the fantasy and is my ultimate deciding factor on rather or not to go pvt. so if i get this answer "audio only in pvt bb" when i ask to hear your voice, then it's been fun while it lasted!

VIDEO ON DEMAND

i wanted to add a little something about VOD's too.

so you just did an incredible show: made some money, got two orgasms out and hopefully have a return customer in the person who just took you pvt. fun's over right? WRONG! enter your vod collection! the vod is a recording of every show you do. whether its the two min chat or the ninety minute marathon, every time you go private it gets recorded. so how is this cool? well for a member every private show they've had gets put in a special category in their account for quick access to all the privates they've ever done.. so at the click of a mouse i can re-live our special day over and over again (members also have the ability to make their show private so it won't be accessible to anyone else). moving forward this is also cool for you, because all members have to pay (at a more discounted rate) to view your vod. so while i'm re-living our private show, you're making money while your sleeping or maybe even in another pvt!

first of all, just to let you know, from our side when a member clicks on a models vod's there are potentially three screens to view before actually watching the vod; all of them have a screen shot from that particular show as well as a title. First screen shows A PRE-SELECTED GROUP OF 28 VOD'S from there the member has the option of selecting one of those or clicking a link that says "MODEL NAME has x number recorded private shows available - click here for even more VOD clips" which will take you to a screen of chronologically listed VODS. from the first screen or this one a member can select which vod they want to choose and it takes them to a more in depth view of this vod which has a model written caption (if you write it) and (if applicable) a rating, up to three categories and user review.

vod's get looked down upon sometimes because they are not privates and don't bring in as much income, but you need to look at them this way: literally, you're making extra money off people watching what you already made money off of!

by all means you want to focus on getting your pvt's because that's where the better income is, but don't be shy about talking to people in open chat about that awesome pvt you had a month ago. one time a girl told me she had an orgasm so great that she actually blacked out! so when i said "wow i wanna see that she told me to go find her vod that was titled "Blacking Out Orgasm" so i went, found it and i watched it.

when the show is recorded the only thing it lists is the recording date, so with that in mind, give your private shows titles if you can. "Sloppiest BJ Ever" or "My Upside Down Gagging BJ And DP Fun" or "For All You White Lingerie Fans" or "Panty Stuffing While I Eat A Bowl Of Cereal" or "I Cum So Hard I Fall Off The Bed!". be creative and descriptive, labeling them helps members navigate through your collection much easier and find what they are looking for. there's also a place to write a caption with more detail for the member to read once they click on the particular vod they want to view. in the example above there would be no way to find that particular show without the title as i was not going to sit and watch hundreds of vod's to find it. remember too that a lot of members will check out a few of your vod's to see what you're like "behind the curtain" before ever taking you pvt. also in today's economy people might be more willing to spend their money watching vod's rather than taking you pvt because it's a better value as far as $/min to watch vod's.

while i cannot guarantee you'll get more vod views by doing all this, look at it this way: when you go to the video store are you more likely to watch a movie with a summary or one with just a picture on the cover? hell, most porn even have some sort of summary! so why not take 15 minutes to clean up your vod's and make them a bit more user friendly? might as well make your money any way you can right?! also, say you're gonna be offline for a while for whatever reason, you're not gonna be making any money off pvts.. but wouldn't it be nice to still get a paycheck from the vod's?

A few more thoughts on VODs, submitted for your approval:

I've seen quite a few guys harassing the models about what they do in pvt, how their boobs look, etc. I've suggested the check out the VODs to see what the models have already done. And I've found them informative -- there is a range of things models are willing to do, and a range of speeds at which they function. When I see a VOD where the bra and panties are still on five minutes in, and five minutes is more than I can afford, that's something I'd be talking to the model about before going pvt with her.

Also, an advantage for VODs for me is that I can skip through the portion of the show where the model is just typing at the keyboard, and get the the hotter and heavier portions that I'm looking for in the VOD.

These are marketing points for VODs, and can help bring models more income while building brand loyalty with their customers and avoiding frustration and bad reviews. They can be useful in transforming grays to whites when they understand that they can afford VODs.

Communication is a key to keeping everybody here happy, and some realistic conversation about VODs can be good conversation for all involved.

I'm brand new and haven't even been online yet- I've taken the past couple days to read through the forums and my handbook to try and take in as much info as I can... time and time again I've wondered about something and see that you've covered it in a topic thread.... you rawk!!
