After brilliant first 10 min with Steven Gerrads the english team showed again their traditional weak spot.
After Greens 40th-minute howler, when he fluffed his handling of an innocuous long-range shot the myth that England are among the favourites for these finals appeared to explode.
But heads up all you englishmen. There were also great moves in - where they showed what they are able to do.
I'm still missing Frank Lampards sensational long distance shots - we will see them for sure in the 2010th tournament.
Well done US boys You did a great job and showed playing with heart, acting as a team and working hard for success can balance the lack of famous names
Well done also to Argentina - best game so far. With a gameplay as they showed against nigeria they showed that they are rightly named favorite for title. But what will happen if Messi gets stopped - is the team good enough to compansate?
Tonight Germany will have have it's south africa opening game. Hopefully they show same play as they did in 2006 world championship and in the semis of the 2008 european championship.
Sorry for all you Ozzies - tonight you will lose

Yup, watching England play is always a roller-coaster, and this world cup looks like it will be no different in that regard. Hopefully we`ve got all our bad luck out of the way and we`ll start to settle down. As for the Yanks, I knew they`d run themselves into the ground for the whole match and their mid-field was performing well, but they can`t defend and when they come up against a more ruthless team than us they`ll be on the plane home.
Anyone see the Algerian goalkeeper`s mistake? Worse than Green`s!!!!!!

After Uruguay's 0:0 against France, USA's 1:1 against UK, Paraguay's 1:1 against Italy and Cote D'Ivory's 0:0 we have the first underdog who bit a real favorite for championchip.
Congratulations Switzerland for the 1:0 victory over Spain

To not be missunderstood - Germany lost because Serbia made his Goal and Germany didn't. They dominated Serbia in 2nd half with one man less and even missed a penalty. Shit happens.
But... is it ballet dancing or male team sports?
26 more or less harmless fouls let to 9 yellow cards - if referees will continue like this they will decide the matches. They take away the gameplay for nada.
First time in a world championship tournament where in almost all games at least one player gets a red card. Time for FiFa to rethink their card rules
I am still in hope to see best team, the team who plays the most attractive soccer, winning the 2010 games - and hope there will be a change of referee decisions for giving yellow or red cards after just touching a player.
As long I am just blue for Germanys loss against Serbia - but heh .... even with 10 men Germany dominated the Game - so everything in future will be green again for my team
Heads up all you Germans and Team Germany ... as long lets mourn with for the next 4 days .... on day five we will Kick Ghanas ass and move forward to the round of 16 and have a new reason for :

Why ? Because I didn't wrote any laudation on "Oranjes"?
Nope I'm not american - but I liked their efforts and their attitude after being 2 goals behind. I have seen now replays of the scene for about 10 times and still couldn't find out what was the reason for the denial of the goal.
And for "Oranjes" - I still wait until they show what they can - I'm sure latest with the returnal of Arjen Robben we will see their true face - one of the strongest teams ever
(am I Dutch now?) Quote
