When Holland plays like they did the whole tournament and Spain is going to play like they did against Paraguay and Swiss, this could become the most boring worldcup final ever. But, when both are willing to play the best football they can, this could become the most exiting final ever. And lets hope that Oranje will make one more goal then Spain, lol

It's almost impossible, that a final will be more boring than Italy-France 4 years ago or Brasil-Germany 8 years ago.
But i hope, that this match will be advertisement for football (soccer,calcio).
And its just a game, when we win, we have 2 or 3 days parties, but after that we have to step back into reality again and try to qualify for European Championship in Poland/Ukraine. That will be difficult enough. :twocents

And when we loose, we will have a (nasty) fysical and mental hangover, but that will last not longer than a day.

Ps. Good luck Germany in the consolation final against Uruguay, and compliments for the excellent performance in this tournament.

Today Paul's 7th prediction in row got true Germany won against Uruguay. Congratulations for 3rd place Germany.
Now let's wait for tomorrows Final Holland against Spain. Will Paul be right for the 8th time?

Rugby players dont need all that protection.
We have tradition and history in football (soccer) and we are proud about that.
WC football (soccer) is the biggest event in the world after the Olympic (summer) games.

If i am honest, i have to say that Spain was the better team and deserved the victory.

At least i didn't have to jump into the river with my clothes on, as i had promised if we had won.
And the calamares a la Oberhausen at the Italian will taste great tonight. :evil

I wonder, if the pubs here ever get rid of the huge quantities of beer, they have in stock now. :drinkup

Well, I wasn't comparing (EU)football to FOOTBALL(bad name). I simply stated that I can't stand the game. If FOOTBALL puts you to sleep it's because you're not use to action and you get tuckered out :winkwink

I personally thought the Netherlands out played and out CHECKED the cry baby Spaniards ! That is what makes me sick about this game is the whinnig when they get a foot in the shin or chest or wherever. You call it football so if you miss the fucking ball it may wind up elsewhere. WOW...and I get paid millions for this ? A few breakaways and a bigass net with a small pilon goalie and I still can't score ? Give me a bonus cause I eluded that slide tackle and failed to SCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE !!!

I know that enrollment in North America when it comes to soccer is high. That's because those parents don't want their kids to get hurt playing a real man's game !!! The English ref looked like the English NANNY not an official of a men's sport ! :bulb

I think somehow the funniest thing about soccer/football esp. on the International stage which includes tourneyments like the World Cup is that it can come down to a game of "What if..."and then when you compare that to what actually happened it can be quite interesting :bulb

Off topic (well, not for this thread) but,

Damn the Nerazzurri!!

Palermo outplayed them all night, had them on the defensive for long runs of beautiful football but cannot for the life of them free up a man to assist with tapping it in. Arrrrgh?!! And for the love of god why aren't you watching Eto'o??? The man only has more goals than the rest of their strikers COMBINED. Inter's official policy? Give Eto'o the ball. He friggin rents a flat in front of the box all day, this is nothing new. How do you let him behind you??

So that's another Coppa Italia for the moneyed team, while quadruple amputees across Sicily can count for you the number of times we've been able to wear the tricolore or the number of shiny scudetti we have to show off.
