I will add that Addison has used words with all capitalized letters in most of her posts, as well. It isn't just me.
The news media made it look like twelve people showed up for Trump's inauguration address, and protesters outnumbered those who attended his speech. BIG surprise there, as we all know where the bias of the media lies. In reality, 710,000 people showed up to listen to Trump and see his swearing in. There were people all around standing in cold weather for a long time just to witness this event.
During the campaign, the Democrats were PAYING specific people to go to Trumps rallies and pretend to be a supporter, and when they filtered into the gathering, they did everything they could to cause trouble and start fights and arguments. The Democrats even paid homeless guys to cause disruptions at Trump's rallies. Many of these same malcontents were at the "protests" we saw yesterday. The majority of America is not them. I'm sure these protest groups will soon dissipate. This certainly isn't a movement or a trend. What do they think they can do anyway, change Trump's administration to a Democrat one? STOP him from cutting taxes, repealing and replacing the ACA, prevent him from signing legislation or appointing judges? He is going to do what he's been elected to do, and that's the way it is.

Frosted Miniwheats, I don't know what basic human rights he would violate you're referring to. Yes, they will have a replacement plan for the law, and specific congressmen already have ideas they will write into law to successfully replace the ACA. They're going to clean up Obama's mess and change the law to the way it should have been written in the first place. Senator Sasse, just to give one example, has read ALL of the pages of the law, and he has excellent ideas to change it the way it should be.
I dont' know what world you're living in but it's not THIS one. Obama has supported and emboldened our enemies and has treated our allies as though they were our enemies. Trump will do the opposite. Trump has picked stellar fantastic candidates for his cabinet who are more than qualified for their positions. His cabinet picks are one reason I am starting to support this administration more and more, instead of being so skeptical as I was before. Obama's cabinet was just the opposite. Our soon to be Education Secretary supports school choice, Obama's was against it. This shows the hypocrisy of the Democrats and Obama too....Obama was able to choose which schools his own daughters went to, so it's ok for him to do that. But it isn't ok for the American people to do that. It's called being a hypocrite. And that's just one example.
Yes, Obama is a socialist, and a dictator, and a Democrat and a liar. He lied every day for eight years. Trump is not lying when he said he will do the things he said he would do, and he has already proved that. If this administration does the opposite of everything Obama did, that's what this country needs.

Sex_pert old chap, as jolly a nice fella you seem to be, you really do seem to be in denial. Even I were the most one eyed Trump supporter I'd be finding the recent events just a little concerning, no a LOT concerning (our politcians are liars as well, but not as blatant and purely self serving) . I mean you can do all the comparing to Obama you like but that aside this Trump and his crooked bunch are displaying some very troubling traits, the biggest is believing there own bs. I really think if you want to convince us neigh sayers you going to have to start trying to lay down some real fact ... not just that he is going to undo all Obama has done (which in my opinion is not all good in its self). I cannot see how a chap with a degree and a genius IQ can continually defend without hesitation such unacceptable behaviour.

Nope I do not have a crystal ball. But I have watched Trump's reaction to things. I suspect he has passed phase two or three in his urge to purge process.

Those of you who are horrified by his cabinet picks. Wait a few months and we'll see how many are still there.

NO, YOU read the facts you stupid shit. Get your head out of your OWN ass. During the 2016 campaign, TRUMP drew huge crowds that Obama could never hold a candle to. Obama never drew the crowds in 2008 that Trump has always drawn. Everywhere TRUMP went it was standing room ONLY. He STILL has that support, just as he did when he was running last year. Hillary couldn't draw flies at her rallies. Listening to you, one would think his huge crowds were merely an optical illusion. It wasn't an illusion, it was REAL.
You are the one who just believes what you WANT to believe, whether it's actually true or not.
Spicer is going to last all eight years, he will NOT be fired. The ONLY ones Trump is going to fire are the socialist leftovers from the Obama administration, and he has every right to fire them. He has already started to do that. He has frozen hiring at the federal level and he will announce how many federal "workers" will no longer have jobs very soon. He is cutting the size of government already, and this is just his first full work day. This is a very refreshing change.
If you want to see unacceptable behaviour, Kert, look at OBAMA only. Your country never had an Obama, and you should be very thankful for that. He has destroyed everything he has touched. He said he would be the Great Uniter, he has been the Great Divider. He said he would improve the economy, he did just the opposite. He has destroyed the health care system and increased taxes. He has been a disaster, and Trump will do what he needs to to set things right. Don't worry, every single one of Trump;s nominees will be confirmed, even though the Democrats have been stonewalling as they always do. Even the GOP Senators who were originally against Tillerson have announced they will vote FOR him after all.

What is most striking about the mass demonstrations is that they were (are) mostly about decency. Had the conservatives come to power with a similar platform but running a more "traditional" campaign I doubt protests of this scale would have occurred. Most would have simply prepared to fight this or that specific policy issue with a disappointment in the result but not a concern, not a compulsion, that this administration required extra monitoring, extra vigilance.

Trump himself is not the cause in a sense. Remember that before this campaign he was generally well liked by the public who did not yet know the intimate details of his business. Many had never heard of Trump University. Didn't know about the womanizing. If Trump had mounted a cleaner campaign, not angelic, but merely at the level of his Republican peers, much milder in his tone but with the same sentiment, I think the outcome would have been far different. Maybe his vicious base wouldn't have supported him. But on the other hand they seem to worship his business "genius".

A lesson I think that will become clearer and clearer is that he was doomed the moment he took his hard-line, hateful strategy. Doomed to close forever doors that are typically open to most elects. He will never have the collaboration that most get. He will never have the sympathy most get in times of trouble. He will get the strict letter of the law and resistance at every turn. He will get just the level of compassion and mercy he has shown. He may do some good and get some grudging credit for doing so. But that's all he'll ever get. He has managed to obtain many of the responses given to an autocrat without the autocrat's unlimited power.

You're the one ignoring facts umm. What I wrote was true. Trump's campaign rallies were always packed, and even the after election Thank You rallies were standing room only, just as they were during his campaign.
These "protests" are not the majority of America, I can assure you. The protestors are really the lunatic fringe, and they have proven it. You should know that suggesting that it would be fun to BLOW UP the WHITE HOUSE is a FEDERAL OFFENSE. They should be arrested and put in prison for that. You don't even want to get me started on Mike Moore. He has always been a fringe wacko and he always will be.
As far as the way Trump spoke while he was running for president....I did prefer the way Rubio spoke and campaigned when he was running. He is a very talented dynamic speaker. But this time around, a lot of voters preferred Trump's loud, abrasive speaking style. Probably they preferred Trump because they were tired of the GOP nominee doing the opposite of what Trump does: NEVER defending themselves from the lies of the media, never responding to the lies of the liberals. This time they wanted a candidate that DID defend themselves. This time they preferred a candidate that spoke his mind on every single issue very loudly and firmly, and if you didn't like it, well it sucks to be you. In those ways, Trump reminds me of Teddy Roosevelt, another New Yorker who became president. The voters wanted that this time around.

I think even Trump could defend himself without resorting to the tactics he used. Let's admit that he enjoys speaking this way. Hey I understand some amount of enjoying the fun of the battle, having some fun with colorful insults during the campaign. I even understand personal hatreds creeping in as we've seen throughout our history. I've learned about campaigns of the past and have no illusions about the dirty tricks played by both sides.

But this is different. I really worry about our politics degenerating into something like the old Italian city states. Bitter factional rivalries. Routine use of violence. The very view of reality of mass numbers of people governed by factional loyalty instead by their education and wise use of their senses.

We are miles away from this today. Thankfully. But there has been a progression in my lifetime that is alarming. I want the public to care about protecting their democracy more than getting their next meal. To worry about Truth for its own sake but also as a bulwark against tyrants.

I want them to punish politicians who appeal to their baser natures. To take pride in their virtues as being incorruptible. To hold their leaders to the highest standards instead of slavishly caving in and making excuses. To be as fickle and noble as the citizens of the Roman Republic in its early days. Scorning kings. Laughing at those who use fear as a goad for governing.

There umm goes again, calling people names because he has no substance. alternative facts were given by the media from day one, true. And they are NOT KKK gatherings and you have no proof that they are. You have to be a moron to believe that. These gathering are everyday, average Americans who are sick and tired of the destruction they have seen for the last eight years. Thirteen million Americans (conservative voters) who did not vote in 2012 DID vote last year. Thousands of voters who had never voted before registered as Republicans and voted for the first time in the 2016 election. Those are the voters who attended Trump's rallies and campaign stops, and they had nothing to do with the klan. The only one who is dodging and lying is YOU, and you keep proving it.
Trump is defending himself against the BS of the media, and there's nothing wrong with that. For far too long the media has gotten away with their lies and half truths and the rumors they like to spread. Spicer says it like it is, and if you don't like it, that's your problem.
