As you may of seen I have had a rant about the suppose gift war -- now I want to add my viiews

Its not the sending of gifts but the amount thats got me pissed off,

It's the whole lets send so many gifts it may overload the models inbox attitude that the gifts have created. The gift idea as far as I can ascertain was to allow customers and models to send something to each other as a way of showing a token of thanks for making each others day a little brighter. But these last few days has seen the entire system abused by many customers sending many gisft to models.

Cant we all just go back to how it was at end of last week and keep gift sending in some sort of perspective.

Do we really want to carry on this flooding and for the site bosses to remove this recent addition to the site - I for 1 DONT.

great post suggs! it's good to see members stating opinions without it turning into a war. well i just posted this in the other gift thread but it seems more appropriate here so i'll paste it here for some insight too:

i will not attack anyone in the forums because it's stupid to do so, but here's the long and short of it. i will stop short of saying ten different threads started by one member dedicated to one model is spamming the forums, but over-saturation of anything eventually becomes a bad thing. let's talk pop culture for a minute: anyone get tired of hearing about this damn health care bill or heidi montag's popularity stunts or even brett favre's retirement/unretirement? i for one do because it seems that it is just one thing after another beating your brain with a spiked baseball bat. this immediately makes me NOT want to hear or see anything else about them and anytime i do, i change the channel. and i used to like brett favre, i used to care about the health care bill and (sadly) at one point even thought heidi montag was hot - but that was a while back before they were everywhere i turned. i love concerts and music and i have a great time there, but if heidi montag showed up to a concert i was at and then they let her grab the spotlight, again, by jumping onstage and singing, i would probably leave the venue and be pissed that something else i love was ruined by this silicone barbie doll and her douchebag husband which would make me hate them even more.

since we all know that kimee is my fav i'm going to use her as an example here. how many threads have i started about her? two, maybe three? she knows how i feel about her and i don't need to constantly remind everyone else about it because honestly NO ONE REALLY WANTS TO CONSTANTLY BE REMINDED IF I THOUGHT SHE WAS BETTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE ON THE SITE - end of story. (which, for the record, i don't actually think she's better than any of the other models. she just does it for me in my happy places!!) the more threads you continue to post about one model, the more threads get bumped off the page about other models; and if that's the motivation for posting them then there is a different issue altogether that needs addressed. we've got to realize that there's a reason why women come in all shapes and sizes: because everyone has different tastes. that's not fair to the other models who are trying to make a living on here and actually use the forums the right way: to have fun and interact with the other members and models.

i make those two points to make this one: if i was posting kimee threads all the time i would be afraid she would turn into one of those examples above and i wouldn't be helping her, but actually turning people off to her, and in the end i would end up hurting her more than helping. sometimes the best intentions are what hurt the most. kimee knows where i stand with her. even when i go talk to other models, kimee knows where i stand. and while yes, i do name drop her in here every once in a while people don't go "NOT AGAIN" when they see it.

in conclusion A) i, nor is anyone else jealous that a model has fifty threads dedicated to them or B) that a model gets more gifts than my fav. it's awesome that models can draw that kind of fan base and i hope every model has at least a handful of people that regularly show her the love. even if the intentions start as pure, to see members sending a million gifts to one model and starting daily threads about them you have to wonder eventually: are they actually still even focused on the model or is this now just to inflate their own ego? when you start seeing people actually getting irritated with other members talking about their fav's, you might want to read the above examples one more time 'cause love and hate is a fine line and it doesn't take much to push someone over it. one thing i do know: constantly seeing someones name pop up everywhere you look is one surefire way to encourage someone to cross that line. I would start a new thread I'm sure many would be intrested how to do it, just seems we have to state they have to use a certain browsers for them to show up right or need to look at embedding the flash players in a different way so they show up right for all.
