Hi guys,

I have a serious problem. Someone created a nick that looks identical to mine. I believe they did this by using the capital "i" to look like the small "L". For example, I think the impostor nick is "Soiier" but with capitol "i"; in the chat rooms it will look identical to my nick "Soller". Try it in a chat window and you will see how identical it is.

I contacted customer support and I'm waiting for a response, in the meantime however this person can ruin my reputation. I believe this person is doing it on purpose. I believe I made this member mad by warning a model of their nasty tricks. This person will ask the model to do several things with their armpit hair and promises to take them private if they do so; but they never do. I've caught the impostor using my nick and asking to see arm pit hair. That is why I think it is them. In the meantime, I don't know what to do. It's nearly impossible to explain to some models, "hey that person with the identical nick is not me". Argh, this is frustrating.

There would likely be a discrepancy in the number of posts of Soller and SoIIer (in the chat room, it really is close to identical, and here as well, as you can see)

So anyone with an l (el) in their nickname is a sitting duck! That can't be good

Although, when the model responds, the fake nick is clearly evident....

(sigh) goodguy13, I thought you'd post a reply like that. Just quiz me on anything, I know all your secrets! :D This really sucks though. At first I thought my account was hacked. And then it took me some time to figure out what happened. Hopefully Customer Service helps me out.

I just talked with Customer Service. They said that they banned the impostor. Hopefully, this is the end of it. The impostor was a nasty person who lied to models to get them to show for free; so maybe some good came of it.

Soller, I found I was able to log on as SOILER, SOLIER or SOIIER, all of which end up looking the same as Soller

I don't think Customer Service will be able to help you, because the variants are, after all, different names from Soller

The only thing I can think of is to reserve those variants as screen names yourself, but even then an imposter would still be able to log on as S0LLER, or variants, using a zero in the name

Thanks Jeffie. I may have to take your advice. I'm hoping they did ban right person and that I have no other nemesis out there. It was quite a shock to see the identical nick because of the "i" and "L" confusion.

There's another male that likes Colombians, too. I think it's male3978 something like that. I've never seen him or her, but they're out there.

I have another enemy who stole my nick using variants like the following:
SOILER, SOLIER or SOIIER

He tries to trick models and he is ruining my reputation. My model friends, one way to tell they are fake is you won't be able to whisper to them.

I have reported this to customer service again.(sigh)

Sorry to hear that, Soller.

Do performers see your avatar? (Perhaps some helpful performer will answer). That seems to be a good way for them to recognise the real Soller :bulb

And if the variants start to use your avatar (which VS need to approve) that seems like a good reason to have them thrown off the site :twocents

thanks ronnie; i just turned on my avatar in my profile settings.

Silva told me about this impostor over a month ago. i wasn't sure at that time what he was talking about until 2 recent incidents when models told me there was 2 "sollers' in their room and one was asking for favors. I think the impostor is the guy you see in rooms that offer 5k credits if model lies still for 5 min.

I am hoping that some helpful performer will respond to my question at post #11: If members use an avatar is it easy for performers to recognise them in their chat rooms? Will they be less likely to be fooled by imposters?

Maybe my version of f4f is not updated, but i never saw a possibility to see members avatar. I can check a bio without avatar. But we can write a small notes about members, so i never think anything bad about Soller.

Exactly the same thing happen to me today. Someone with a identical nick who I have enough trusting, that S O A B got cheated me and I made a free show .
