Performers can use the Silence option as much as they like, and I wish they would use it more. They don't get penalised for using it. It quickly stops an unpleasant scene developing. It doesn't cause a confrontation, which might then lead to a vendetta and negative reviews.
With the Silence option the abusive member can carry on typing as normal. He sees what he types, but nobody else does. He does not know he has been silenced. When he sees he is just being ignored he will usually give up.
I understand that the Silence option only lasts for 5 minutes each time. A longer option might be handy. There is an Ignore option which only lasts for 2 minutes, which is probably never used. I am sure VS would be happy to make some adjustments if performers made their views known (in the Studio and Performers forum).
I hope this is helpful.

Jeff Gorgeous please use BAN button . Bans the member so they can't return that day .
Learn from Studio Manager , Executive or this site how to ban for a month or a year .
Also hit ALERT button and a site Admin will help you. Permanent ban is best if they have been rude multiple times .
This will prevent the member from returning .
...
Never a need for members to be rude to models
The problem is the same 20 to 30 members are rude in MOST rooms .
Banning them long term would give a more positive vibe to your room .
Good Luck !
I hesitate to disagree with LickaU, as he is a great guy. He taught me a lot about the site in my early days here, and helped to keep me on the rails.
I think that banning is a valuable tool, but I think it should only be used as a last resort. It is confrontational, and can lead to vendettas (bad reviews and worse). I think performers can also be penalised for banning members.
As explained at post #1, I would love to see performers use the Silence button as soon as a member starts to make rude comments. I would also like to see the Ignore option dropped, and replaced by a longer Silence option (say 10 or 20 minutes).
In the absence of any responses, I don't know whether performers and other members agree or disagree... Quote

While I do agree with ronnie on the silence button usage ( there, I said it :D), when a member can be named who always causes trouble the "ban for a long time" or report to site admins as LickaU points out is certainly justified! Quote

Female side there are 20 - 40 members who try to get banned or too dumb being rude .
A permanent ban does not lower the model's power score . Admin can help them do it when they see the problem member .
I NEVER like seeing a member abuse a model or members . Some act like a elementary school k1d . Being on the internet is NOT an excuse to be rude .
Silent works for only minutes . Regular ban gives a temporary relief .
To eliminate the members who are ALWAYS rude is a win for the model and the members who visit them
The model has the tools to run their room how they chose .
I do not believe they should teach a "kindergarten class" on how to behave to the same members over and over .
I have seem a low ranking model become Top 20 and even Model of the Week simply using their time on members who are not rude .
Ronnie - love most of your topics .
I am on the model's side to eliminate the worst offenders is all .
Side note : Send offenders to BAN game Quote

Thanks for the bump. We've been tossing around ideas like this for a while in General Discussion.
