The models are sitting in front of a computer screen for hours, they need something to keep busy or pass out from boredom.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~^^^^^^^^^^^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~^^^^^^^^^^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
May I suggest as pastime to pay attention to the
screen in this one GODDAMN site for a change????
When you sign up for camming in these type of sites
no one assures you that you'll be hysterical with fun but that
eventually you'll get some (little) money out of it...
IT IS A JOB!!...and not called babysitting a bored
model!!!...you must play by the rules and apply some common
sense while doing so...
I don't know anybody who would tip models to
play with the phone, X Box or texting!!! do you???
In Amerique they have a funny expression: "Either sh1t
or get off the pot..."
When you don't like what you do as a job quit and move on!!
Give someone else a chance to do what is needed to be successful...
Too many models!!!.... too many with bad attitudes and extremely
poor manners!!!!!!!!!..
Pages and pages of new faces daily and seldom you
see one mildly educated and well mannered...
C'est la vie!! this too shall pass.....
and something a lot worse will makes us all complain in
the future ...
Just my
Bravo! This is what many of us think, but have not expressed.
The models are performers. To perform, by definition, would mean to actually do something that captures attention, and better still, holds it. A model/performer who is just sitting there looking at a cell phone is not, by definition, doing their job. They are not performing. They are not entertaining. And likely not making money. And that's the objective, isn't it?
In many cases they are here just to moan and grown about
how unfair,cheap and boring we members are...
We just throw them 2.000 credits just for showing up????...
But if you say so you'll be told your opinions and ideas
are too negative for the forum...
Status quo got us where we are today!!!
I just saw a model clipping his nails while chomping
on pizza!!!
Call me crazy but there are certain things that get my goat....
I'm glad you agreed wise MIDNIGHT one!!!
right now i am on the phone with a MODEL laughing at you guys Quote
sign my petition to stop performers from using cell phones on this site
If you tipped more, they would be showing their wares more and have less time to be bored on their phones. You can't go in a room, tip 25 and expect undivided attention for two hours.
But you could also say that the models are PAID performers. When they are not being paid (with credits) they are entitled to keep themselves occupied.
You, LP and others make some good points, midnightvoiceco. But sensible points can be made on both sides, and I liked Twixel's contribution. I think it is good to have some balance in the topic Quote
I can fully get on board with both sides of this discussion. There are very successful models I've visited, who were engaging the visitors in the room, and occasionally using the cell phone. True performers, true multitaskers. They did not forget their audience. Engaged with the people who pay -- the customers/visitors to the room. And if they are doing something that is worthy of a tip or a boost or a flood or whatever, then more power to them.
Too many times however, I've stopped in a room where the model/performer is just sitting there mindlessly glued to the cell phone, oblivious to visitors to the room. To suggest, as it was, to tip them to get them to do something is, in my opinion, ridiculous. Tipping should be to reward the performer. It should not be like an arcade game where you feed quarters in to get a performance.
I did not want to get involved in this discussion because I personally think it is up to the models to use or not use cellphones, and it is up to them to take their chances with members sticking around for private shows while they are on their phones or moving on to other rooms where models are paying more attention to the chat.
However, the idea of tipping performers as a reward, while it has some merit, can also backfire, and it has backfired many times, usually with new models who quickly learn not to do anything for free. You say you don't want to tip a model to get off their cellphone. That, I can agree with. But the logical extension from that is, if you want the model to do something, you're not going to tip for it, because the tip should be a reward after the model does what you want him to do? There is nothing to stop you from leaving the room without tipping after the model fulfills your request except your own sense of decency, but there are others in whom that sense of right is lacking--even among long-time members, judging by their badges and numbers--who will up and leave a room after a new model fulfills their request before receiving their tip.
The oblivious model will learn the hard way that he should be paying attention to the room, with or without an outright ban on using cellphones while on cam. Either he will learn to set it aside when members are in his room--provided they are members interested in engaging with him and not freeloaders waiting for others to do all the work--or he will find himself earning no credits and getting fired either by F4F or his studio. well said once again!!!! Quote
If I go into a room and the person is just on their phone, I'm out.
It's also not a realistically enforceable rule. Quote
other sites give the performer a fine if they use there phone
this whole idea is not to punish the performers but to help them
You want flirt to monitor cell phone and cigarette use yet they can't keep up with all the others rules that are already being broken daily.
Don't think too many mind the model on the cell phone smoking a cigarette as long as he has that butt toy turned on for everyone to buzz. Quote
The rules aren't posted for members to see (or if they were, they were taken down long ago). Most of the rules that members mention were told to them over time by the models they visit, usually along the lines of an "I can't do that, it's against the rules" conversation. From what I've heard, new models are provided with a handbook from F4F explaining how to use the performer's interface, and also what they can/cannot do on cam in open chat, can/cannot do in private chat, etc.
Maybe someone (ronnie-uk, perhaps) can point out a thread in which members have already posted the rules that models have told them; posting them here moves beyond the parameters of this thread's topic. Quote
