what prevents you from telling the model about it? that you don’t want to reveal your identity and stuff, and not just "put them on on my list of models to never visit again"
Exactly! I mentioned "my favorite model" always asks, but sometimes the answer is "I'd rather not" or just silence. He does not pursue it any further, obviously.

I do tell the model about it, that I consider it an intrusive question especially when they won't give me theirs. THEN I stop going there, unless they're really gracious about it. My point is, asking someone their real name as soon as they enter a chat room for the first time doesn't seem like good policy to me.

Not "as soon as they enter a chat room for the first time." He asks only after the user initiates a conversation, or responds to inquiry by him, like "Hi (username), how are you today?" IMO, it is only common courtesy, but agree the user has every right to refuse to give it.

I don't ask for real names, but I ask those users that I chat with, how they want me to call them, especially when their username is a wild mix of letters and numbers. saying or typing " Welcome fgmssnf3742364ewrw how are today?" is a bit impractical.

The simple solution to this is don't get all worked up about it. Just respond with your flirt name. If the performer cannot accept that then it is his or her problem not yours. There are far more important things going on in the world than stuff like this and heck the performer could get a chuckle out of your reply.

Any advices on when and how you as a user want to be welcomed/greeted in a room. There are those horrible slow days, which aren't becoming better with the silence in the room.
I tried to greet or welcome the users after a few minutes to start a conversation. Most of them ignore it or even runaway scared... So I guess a "hi" or "welcome" might be to much...Of course I said a general hi and welcome every now and then. To no avail.... it stays silent.
You don't have to tip, go private or anything... Just a hello or a short conversation. Is it too much to ask? Am I doing it totally wrong?
You never know how this should be to greeting customer well. All depends on luck and right moment and models look. And just relax and enjoy your camming,...
