The new definition leads to some inconsistencies, or perhaps there's a bug in the algorithm
There is a "new" model online at the moment whose bio states "Online since June 23, 2009". When you enter the model's room you are greeted with the message "[This model] is new to the site and you can be one of the first to have a paid show with her. Start a show and see the preferred credit packages in-show!"
Six years is a long time to be a new model! Quote

Hi,
Can you give us the model's name? Like Jamie said, if a model only broadcasted for an hour then decided to start back up again, they are technically still a new model since they qualification is less than 20 hours of broadcasting time.
Again, can you provide the Model's name? This way we can double check to make sure everything is good with the algorithm.
Thank you!

I emailed you the model's name
This "new" model has also received a 5 Years Online Award
Although the algorithm may be technically correct it appears to lead to some rather incongruous outcomes Quote

There are a few in the list right now that come and go but have certainly worked more than 20 hours over the years: Corint X and Termik.

I visited the adorable Cody Tompson today. He has been very popular for several months now, but was shown as a new performer. Several members joked about it.
Earlier his bio page showed that he has earned 250,000 credits, and his Gifts list ran to about 40 pages.
Currently his bio page doesn't show the 250,000 credits, and there is only a single page of Gifts.
There is a similarly named performer (Cody Thompson) whose bio page shows zero Gifts.
Hope this is of some help in fixing the problem. Quote

Probably linked his old studio account Tomson with new studio account name Tompson and took while to update to the new account.

As far as the system is concerned, Cody Tomson and Cody Tompson are as different as Jack Spratt and Billy Bunter
Ronnie you visited Cody Tompson, a new model, today. Cody Tomson has been very popular for several months now Quote

Yes, Jeffie. I think you are right (once again)
The "new" performer I visited today was Cody Tompson:
http://www.flirt4free.com/models/bios/cody_tompson/about.php
He is the SAME GUY as the (250,000 credits) Cody Tomson I have visited before:
http://www.flirt4free.com/models/bios/cody_tomson/about.php
And not to be confused with a different model called Cody Thompson:
http://www.flirt4free.com/models/bios/cody_thompson/about.php
I wondered why Cody Tompson didn't appear in my favourites. As you say, changing his name by 1 letter is as significant as changing his name to Billy Bunter. JJinUK's post #11 may explain why he did it...
Apologies if this has detracted from the underlying problem: performers who are not new being shown as "new"

ronnie-uk, Cody had to change studios, and therefore had to create a new account. That is why "Cody Tompson" is considered new, because it IS a new account. However, it is the same charming, engaging, cheerful Cody Tomson that he was before...only now with a "p" in his name.

New model Cody Tompson's bio has now been removed
As far as I know, the site allows a model to register only one name at any one time
Ronnie, I know you have the models' interests at heart, as do I, but perhaps we need to be more circumspect in situations like this. It's possible that your pointing out that the SAME GUY had multiple nicknames led to the newer bio being removed Quote

JJinUK's topic highlights a current problem: some established performers being shown as new performers. At post #5 VS asked us to give model names so that they could investigate, and fix the problem. I provided 2 names (Simon Di and Cody Tompson) in order to be helpful.
It emerged from the responses here that Cody is something of a special case. He appears to have set up what is, in effect, a duplicate account and that account now appears to have been removed.
I have known several performers who have kept their original performer name, even when transferring from one studio to another, or transferring from studio working to home working. So I hope Cody can simply carry on using his top model (250,000 credits) account.
I think a top model account (250,000 credits) gives a performer certain benefits - like always being able to do party chat and group chat. That seems to be the best option, and I only want the best for Cody. He is a lovely guy.

Not really. Post #5 was a request to me to provide the name of a model I had referred to in Post #4. VS hadn't conceded that there was a problem

Not really. Cody Tompson was correctly shown as a new model because the name was new to the system

Ronnie I suspect this happens only when the original studio agrees to the transfer. Without this agreement a model continues to "belong" to the studio which recruited him Quote
