Technical Support: cam to cam lag

Hey gang. I recently gathered enough nerve to try cam-to-cam with my favorite F4F model. Unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. I've used other video chatting services, like Skype for example, which give a lag-free, just-like-being-there experience, and so I expected nothing less here on Flirt. However, the lag was so bad that it made cam-to-cam unusable; I'd speak, and then 5-10 seconds later I'd hear myself echo back from the model's feed. Is it just me? Are others experiencing the same? Has it always been like this? We just went back to text chatting but I'd lost 15-20 minutes of private time playing around with the problem and trying to resolve the issue to no avail. I would love to use cam-to-cam more but this lag makes the experience intolerable.

Yes, it is rather abysmal, isn't it? It has been like this since I joined (about 9 months now), so I guess this is how it is.
We have projects actively under development to improve the Cam2Cam experience. Unfortunately no firm date on when we will have something available but it is being worked on.
Also, the lag within the rooms seems to be getting worse. Becoming a bit of a joke, really.
Agreed, this is something that is being addressed also. As you probably know the computer world is moving away from Flash which has a better low-latency (low lag) solution for live video. The alternative (HLS) which is the delivery method of choice for mobile has inherently more lag and we're taking steps to reduce that as much as possible. All of these improvements are happening daily behind the scenes and do not require any updates on your part. Just wanted you to know that we're actively working on this as well.

F4F - Thanks for the information. I really like the Flirt site very much. It is by far my favorite cam site! I'm glad to hear you're working on these issues and support you fully. I really want to see Flirt continue to grow and be the BEST cam site anywhere. I'll try to be patient. Being able to really use cam-to-cam successfully would be a huge plus in my rating book for you guys.
