I have just noticed a new option icon at the bottom left of my screen when I am in a chat room. Browser or Flash video player. I have tried both of them and can see no difference, except one the change ended up in a different room. Please what is the purpose of this, which player do FFF recommend, and is it part of a further system change? Quote

First, ending up in a different room definitely is not the desired functionality. We'll see if there's a bug somewhere.

In terms of the switching logic, basically all of the major browsers are doing away with support for Adobe Flash. The replacement is known as HLS which is the same streaming technology used if you're on an iPhone, etc.

As we transition all of the streams to 100% HLS we are providing an option to switch back to using Flash in case people run into compatibility issues during this transition. Long term that switching option will not be available.

Just wanted to note that there is a noticeably longer delay with the web browser video option (I count 20 seconds on average and determined this behavior by tipping a model then hearing the tip sound 20 seconds later). With the Flash option, the tip sound is almost instantaneous. Quote
