Also, Here is the same issue from a different ankle.
A newbie in this site, most propably will first top models. Ofcourse all top models have their shows hidden. A newbie will ask the model "Hey sexy, what you do in shows?" and the model will answer "i do all, try me". Then newbie will try check her vods section and will find out that model has 0 recording available. The newbie will ask again "Hey why 0 recording baby?" and the model maybe will answer with a ban of this annoying customer. OK OK is too much but might happen. Some would say that model was arrogant some others would say the models behavior was normal.
Does not matter.
Anyway, sorry for my english but i am sure you understand me.... Q is why models can hide all of their recodings? Wouldnt be better if all models have a sample of their shows on their vod section?

I will list you some reasons why the performers, customers or site may disable the VODS.
Performer Reasons -
1- The performer had a show that was talk only with a customer. So didn't release the show because it wasn't really the typical show that customers want to watch on VODS.
2- The performer had a show that was talk only but the conversation contained personal matters of the customers on the VOD. So the performer disabled the VOD so the customers personal life is not available to all to see.
3- The show didn't go as planned for some reason and was not appropriate to remain a VOD that was active.
4- The show didn't actually start because the customer was having technical issues. So VOD was disabled because performer was sat there only saying hello hello hello are you there ?
5- The performer feels the VODS don't encourage customers to take them private at their higher rate and makes the customers go watch the VODS at the cheaper rates. So in short the performer feels they are not making a better income with them enabled for some reason.
6- The performer has landed in the top 3% of performers and her/his feature to disable all VODS when they get to this top 3% is enabled. (Remember some performers have no control over this and their studios do this).
7- The performer has had problems with users recording their VODS and re-posting them to other sites.
8- The performer does not want friends or family members to see their shows. Sometimes family or friends are invited to the chat by the performers to chat but of course they don't need them to see what they do in private shows.
Many more reasons of course as you can imagine these are a few examples.
Customer Reasons -
1- The original customer has the right to disable public access to their show, it is their show and it is their call what they want to do with it. They can even email the site and ask for it to be deleted if they like.
2- The customer watched the show and realised their name or other personal information was on it. So they disabled it for all to access.
3- The customer just wants their shows only available to them.
Many more reasons of course as you can imagine these are a few examples.
Site Reasons -
1- The site removed a VOD because the original customer requested it for removal.
2- The site removed the VOD because the show broke some site rules.
3- The site removed the shows because the performer was having problems with customers recording their shows and re-posting them on other sites.
4- The site disabled access to all VODS for that performer because their studio requested it.
5- The performer left the site and wanted all their VODS removed for personal reasons.
6- The site removed the VOD because the "report abuse" was clicked on that VOD and some customer found the VOD not appropriate for some reason.
Many more reasons of course as you can imagine these are a few examples.
Also the most important reason why customers and performers have this control is to not upset them and make them leave the site, we all have the right to control our own personal data created on here. If we take that control away it only upsets the performers and customers and they go elsewhere, so it makes good business sense to allow this.
I do see your point about having VODS enabled and allowing a future customer to get a sample of what may take place in private (one of the main reasons why I loved the idea of the VODS when they were introduced and was in favour of the VOD system to become a part of the site and not remain a beta test platform), but easy cure for that is going into the open room and asking the performer would you do this in private and if they say yes take them for a show as they have agreed to perform with you. If you find for any reason a performer didn't do as they promised in open room and agreed you could always contact customer support to review it and make a decision if they may refund you some of the credits as a good will gesture. Then you know not to take that performer private again. I'm happy to say most performers stick to their promises in open room so I doubt you will have any problems with that so the general rule of thumb is always agree in open room with the performer before clicking private in this case.
Hope I made it clear now why and if anything else drop another note here .
Best regards
Nabil

Purgatory, in your opinion, should I disable any of the shows I've had where the performer and I only talked, so as to prevent other members from wasting credits when they might prefer to see something more physical? (Though I do try to explain in the reviews of my own shows that it is only a casual chat.)

You might disable a talk-only VOD from being shared so that other VODs from the performer on the same day have a better chance of getting in the Daily VODs.
Also, if you asked the performer to do something that might reflect badly on them when seen in a VOD without explanation (for example, if you asked them to intentionally fake a cum shot), it would seem appropriate to mark the video nonshared.

Thanks, Purgatory and wonderboi2009. This sounds like a good reason to disable VODs. I had a VIP membership briefly, and I remember seeing some of my talk-only VODs listed in the Daily VODs. I'll leave the more sexual/physical VODs alone and just disable my private talk-only VODs, and do that from now on with future shows as well.

I understand all what you say, but a small sample would not harm anyone. And if you are one of the decision makers there, please suggest it, or maybe ask other people as well.
Since the small window has gone disabled, then the only was of preview are the recordings.
Sorry but i do not understand the friends, cousins, relatives come chat with the models (!!) and models disable the vods. I think that the site its not a place for social talking i guess....
Anyway, thanks again ... and hope to see some change soon.

I've already talked to the model about it and he didn't do anything to block it, and I've gotten others from him and his studio without problems.
