I agree though that it would be nice to show this during that time. I have a few ideas of how we can integrate this so that tips can be counted towards a group show goal. Though it's still in the early stages.
Thanks for the feedback, your comments further reinforce the need to improve this functionality.

When a performer does something particularly well in group chat, or responds to a special request, a number of us would normally tip. It is annoying that those using the new interface cannot tip, and even say: "Can't tip - sorry" or "How do I tip?"
VS should not be discouraging paying customers from tipping. Sorry, but I think it is absurd
Tipping during the group chat pledge period is quite a different matter, and it is quite rightly excluded in both the old and new interfaces. If members wish to help the performer reach their group chat target it is right that they should give pledges and not tips during the pledge period Quote

VS must cater for those members who become confused because they don't know the difference between a tip and a pledge - a classic example of dumbing down

ronnie-uk, I understand the reasoning. Sometimes, however, it might not be the desire of the member to participate in the group--say, if it were going to be too long and the member didn't have enough time--yet the member might still want to give the performer a tip and ensure that s/he receives the credits, in particular if during the pledging period the model does something notable or satisfies a request. Since there isn't a guarantee that the group will succeed, and all credits will go back to the members, a tip option could be a happy medium: support the performer even if not participating in group.
The only other alternative would be to send a credit gift, and that would mean navigating away from the chat room to the Gift page or the performer's profile. I can't see adding yet another tab to the new interface. Allowing tips but emphasizing via a pop-up message that that the tip is NOT a pledge could be a possible solution. Quote

The key issue is that the new interface should provide the same useful functions as the old interface. It doesn't, so it needs to be fixed.
The old interface makes it easy to give tips in a group chat show. I have used this a lot, and have seen others use it a lot. VS have now excluded this from the new interface. So they have TAKEN AWAY the facility for members to give tips when they want to. That is the aspect that I feel is absurd.
The old interface does not allow members to give tips during the group chat pledge period. That is intentional, and is tried and tested. It avoids confusion, as VS state here. It must be right that it is still the same in the new interface.

The performer may decide not to perform what was advertised during the open target time period, take all available credits than sit back and demand tips or no show will happen while the "show is occurring" and they can tell if we have credits now. Extorting pure and simple.
If you desire to tip but can not, why not leave a gift in the same amount of credits? Quote
